If you haven’t heard of Alexx Stuart, let us introduce you.

Alexx Stuart is an educator and change agent who founded Low Tox Life in 2010 after seeing the lack of transparency in our food system, personal care and cleaning products. She’s built a movement that’s non-judgmental, positive and says low tox peeps are a force to be reckoned with! A columnist for Wellbeing magazine, she is also a sought-after speaker and consultant to businesses committing to change for good.

The course to help students understand chronic inflammation, its causes and treatments, to better their situation, whatever form if inflammation they’re experiencing. 

The main aim of the course is to support those who have chronic inflammation in

  1. finding their root causes (inflammation tends to be a soup of various things and an accumulation of sorts with something that pulls the trigger)
  2. working to reduce overall inflammation
  3. working to educate and empower them in their practitioner conversations and treatment options
  4. Work to help them build a rock solid and empowering health team of practitioners
  5. working to ensure their inflammation is minimised and quietened moving forward
  6. working to ensure they have additional resources across a number of specialised conditions so that they can continue to learn on our resources page.

What does the course include?

  • Inflammation and the Gut – The gut is heralded as the second brain, so it’s no surprise that when digestive conditions, dysbiosis, intestinal permeability and unbalanced gut microbiome can have a huge flow-on effect for the rest of the body. In this topic we explore where things may be going wrong for you and how to make immediate and positive changes.

  • The Food and Inflammation Index – It wouldn’t be a complete course unless we addressed the huge role food plays in inflammation. In this topic we look at the foods that are causing chaos in the body and those that are best for bringing back some equilibrium, treating disease and illness and nourishing you to good health. To top it off, we’ve created a naturopath approved anti-inflammatory meal plan with recipes for S.O.S inflammation cases and recipes for people who just want to get things back on an even keel.

  • Environmental toxins and inflammation – We tackle the major environmental factors that wreak havoc on the body. We talk all things mould, phthalates, pesticides and herbicides + how to identify areas in your life where these are causing problems for you. PLUS we look at holistic ways to support illness that has been caused by these environmental factors.

  • Trauma and Inflammation – While inflammation is largely physical, it goes without saying that what is happening emotionally and mentally can manifest in physical symptoms. In this topic we discuss how and why managing your stress, emotions and previous trauma can help to relieve inflammation in the body (in conjunction with various other interventions).

  • Testing for Inflammation – Sometimes you don’t even know where to start, right? When it comes to clinical testing it can all feel like it’s all in a foreign language. Fortunately we’ve done the nitty gritty work for you. This section outlines the crucial tests required to help you decipher your inflammation symptoms – where they may be coming from, what the causes may be and just how severe they are – and the best bit is you’ll finally have some solid evidence to back your claims so that you can move forward with a treatment that suits you (guided by your health professional, of course).

  • Supplements for Inflammation – This ones a juicy topic and super helpful if you’re unsure why to take certain supplements and what the importance of them actually is. We break down the best supplements (practitioner approved) to support the reduction of inflammation, improve immune health and increase energy.

  • Detoxing Gently – When it comes to being inflamed it’s super important to detox at a pace that suits you. For many people, detoxing can be full on and if not done correctly, cause more harm than good. This topic explains how to detox in a safe manner and why it’s important to detox in the first place. Best bit? We’ll have you feeling so much better with just a few simple techniques.

The course for when you’re thinking about or have already started trying to make babies.

The main aim of the course is to:

  1. prepare those that are thinking about having a baby in the next couple of years to optimise their chances of being in peak health and achieving healthy conception.
  2. to support those who’ve had troubles or taken a while and nothing’s happening, to see where perhaps they might be going wrong / what they haven’t yet discovered or optimised and increase their chances of healthy conception.
  3. be of support to those who are going to go the IVF route, to ensure they’re in peak health and increase their chances of treatment success.

What does the course include?

  • Power foods for fertility – We take a look at the top macro and micronutrients essential for fertility, as well as the foods that can muck with your hormones. You’ll also get a 1-week meal plan to help you nourish your body ready for a bub!

  • Gut health 101- Did you know that your baby will take on the same gut blueprint as you and your partner? This has knock-on effects on your baby’s long-term health. We take you through all things gut health, including how to know if you have a gut issue and ways to improve your belly microbiome.

  • Lowering your toxic load – What does toxic load have to do with pregnancy? A whole lot – the toxins around you can really mess with your hormones, making it tricky to fall pregnant. We take a look at what toxins to reduce, ways of living a low-tox life and how to detox safely.

  • The “SSSH” Effect – A nifty little nickname for other ingredients to maximise our chances of the horizontal tango: Sleep, Stress Management, Sexy Time and a Happy Headspace. You’ll learn why managing stress will be instrumental in helping you fall pregnant, ways to manage your stress levels, why sleep is so important for pregnancy the perks of living with joy and vitality. And of course, ways to jazz up “Sexy Time”.

  • Clinical support – We share how to choose health practitioners to join you on your preconception journey, which tests to have and how feel empowered about asking your doctor for these tests, as well as some underlying health conditions that can impact your ability to fall pregnant.

The course for when you’re thinking about when you are going to have or do have children, and you’re better wanting to understand the impact of environmental toxins on children, as well as minimise the toxins most harmful to children in their day to day.
